Pascal’s Gem

Let me share a little gem attributed to Blaise Pascal.  It has lots of secrets, but for now, I just want us to revel in its beauty.

The surface beauty is in how the triangle is formed.  After the top triangle of 1’s, you carry 1’s down the sides and then add two numbers and put the result under the pair.  This makes a new row.  You keep doing this to make new rows.  It can go on much further than what this image displays.  Stare at it for a while.  Make some more levels.  See what patterns you can spot while getting lost in its beauty.  Then, stay tuned for further discussions on the hidden marvels.
